When you service your boat's propeller you have to remove the cotter pin to get the prop off. Cotter pins are designed to be disposable, so we suggest replacement each time the prop is remove and re-installed.

Type 316 stainless construction means these cotter pins have excellent corrosion resistance, and the shorter leg makes it easy to bend open once installed.

Ensuring you have a fresh cotter pin on hand, even if you're not replacing the lock nut, is cheap insurance to make sure your expensive prop doesn't end up at the bottom of the lake.
